Hey!  This show was meant to post Friday Nov 21, but due to unforeseen problems . . . I'm now posting it at 3:35 AM Monday morning. We talk a lot about the NXE 360 dashboard update. Rustin even gives us a play-by-play on how to make your avatars look great. We were kind of antsy to finish recording so we could watch some Smallville, but you can't tell at all. We had planned on recording one more show for November . . . but the holidays are going to no doubt take a toll on our recording schedule (so bare with us). Hey, Skyler here!  Rustin is feeling a little under the weather today, so we've decided to push back the show until he isn't sick anymore. We figured you didn't what to have him coughing into the microphone any more than we do.

Well let's get into it a bit, shall we?  I tried logging onto XBL today and I just kept getting error after error. Finally I decided to get up off my couch and track it down.

Apparently Live has been down (or rather "partly-down") on and off since Friday night. Which is making a lot of people think hard about how much the NXE dashboard update has to do with the problem (your's truly included).

This is how Major Nelson, from Xbox Live,  responded to this problem on his Blog Page .

"In the past few hours, the Xbox Operations Center noticed that a large number of members were disconnected from Xbox LIVE, some more than once.  Our Engineering teams are actively working to determine the root cause of this issue and to prevent it from happening again.  If you are disconnected, you should be able to reconnect after a few minutes.  Thanks for your patience as we work quickly to solve the issue.

Update: I’ve learned that these issues have been resolved. Thanks for your patience.

Update: From reading comments, I see that some folks are still having issues. The Operations center is investigating.

Update: If you are having issues, I suggest you contact support. At this point LIVE members should have no problem connecting and staying connected to LIVE.

We just have to wonder if the NXE is really worth all of the headaches it has caused. I still feel that there should have been a way to "opt out" of the new update... Not that I'm a "Blade-based dashboard fanboy," I just don't like paying for an Xbox Live account and not being able to get online.

I think Microsoft should reimburse us MS points when this kind of stuff happens. . . Just a thought Microsoft.
